At a minimum you will need:

  • Headshot Photo
  • a Passport, Transport Workers Identification Card (TWIC) and/or Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC)

If you are current or former military or have Sea Experience you will need to upload a copy of your credentials;

  • DD-214
  • US Coast Guard Discharge 
  • Company Letters
  • History of Assignments
  • Transcript of Sea Services

This platform is designed so you can enter information at your own pace. Collect your personal details, start the application, save, and return to complete it later. But don’t wait too long. Your Maritime Future Awaits!

Attention

In compliance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations, hairstyles which do not allow students to wear uniform hats are prohibited. All hair colors must be natural, or reflect a natural color. Unnatural, artificial colors that detract from a professional mariner appearance are not allowed.

All males must arrive clean shaven, with a short military style haircut to be maintained throughout Phase I. No beards. No ponytails. No dreadlocks. No facial hair. No exceptions.

All females must wear hair pulled into a properly secured bun that does not interfere with the wear of the hat, or have hair cut above earlobes. Claw clips and headbands are not authorized.
