Since we started in 1938, we’ve put people at the forefront of our work.
We assisted with critical supply demands during World War II, Korea, the Vietnam War, and the Gulf War. We delivered care necessities to the Eastern Bloc in the 1980s, and we were one of the first responders during the 9/11 attacks. We saved passengers from the Hudson River aircraft water landing in 2009, and we continually aid coastal communities during hurricane disasters. If you want to pursue a career that directly helps those in need, look no further than the Seafarers International Union.
In addition, our organization offers the greatest maritime education at our best-in-class facility in Maryland. Even if you have little or no experience as a mariner, our educational opportunities can give you the skills you need to work at sea. We are the leaders in maritime training and apprenticeship programs.
